Bad (Gal) Mascara

I actually got bullied into buying this Bad Gal mascara along with a load of other stuff on the Benefit counter, why I can't just say no.... I was convinced that it was going to be great & I'd love it (along with a blue glittery mascara that I bought, not 12 years old anymore!)

It's not totally awful, I'm still using it every day, just I've had better. I have quite long lashes and the brush is just too big. It is virtually impossible to get right from the base to the tips of my lashes with this giant brush and get a good application without getting some on my eyelid. The mascara itself is fine, it's just the silly big brush that I find annoying. I like a lot of volume and I don't think this is the one for me. I will definitely be going back to MAC Zoomlash or Maybelline.

Maybelline masacaras I find just 'work' they do what they say. Maybelline was the first mascara ever created using Mabel (coal) and Vaseline.... bit of trivia for you! Anyway, wish I'd bought 2 Maybelline mascaras for the price of this fiddly Benefit one. In the mascara wars I keep finding Maybelling coming out on top. Maybe she's born with it.....

Kiehl's Daily Cleanser

I love this Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. I chose it randomly while at Westfield's the other week. For £18 I thought it seemed like a good middle-of-the- road priced cleanser. I wanted something that seemed natural, less abrasive than say, Clinique, which I sometimes find too hard for my skin type, and more cleansing than the occasional late night baby wipe... (horrifying, I know). It is clay based and feels like a nice consistency on the skin. It feels like it deeply cleanses, even though it is not very grainy and doesn't contains 'microbeads' like some face scrubs. This feels gentle on your face and leaves skin so soft afterwards. I haven't used any Kiehl's products before but I was impressed & want to try the Rare Earth Pore Minimising Lotion next...

Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser is £18 available from House of Fraser or on-line. Funny how as you get older you put more time into thinking about skin products rather than make-up! :)

Christian Dior - Nirvana

Dior's Nirvana is a gorgeous Teal/Turquoise colour for this season. I love my pastel girly colours, but I really like this different type of edgy nail polish. A step away from the glossy blacks and greys which have been hot for a while, both Dior & Chanel have some gorgeous colours out which are slightly daring but still classy. Nicely finished with an OPI Top Coat, will last chip free for a good week! Love it!

YSL Diamond Shine Lipgloss

I just got given a YSL Diamond Shine Lipgloss and absolutely love it!! Gorgeous shade for summer (No.8) - a peachy red but not too harsh and makes my teeth look gleaming white! It stays on for ages and isn't sticky or gooey like some glosses. I wanted a change as I tend to stick to MAC glosses, which I do love, but I fancied a change and something a bit bolder than my normal. Lipsticks and glosses with reds in them tend to make your teeth look whiter, compared to some pinks or paler colours which can do the opposite. This is a really good gloss -  Definitely recommend girls!
