3 Week Nail Varnish with Gelish Nails!

This weekend was a total write-off for me. Don't drink on an empty stomach people! It was lovely seeing all of my favourite people on Friday night :) except I was bed ridden for practically the rest of the weekend. To feel I achieved something I headed to LuLu Beauty Lounge in Bromley to treat myself to some pampering.

I have quite strong nails and always have them painted. I don't like the idea of acrylics personally, so hearing about Gelish sounded like it was just what I was looking for. It's a gel nail varnish, which lasts up to 3 weeks!! OPI varnishes which are really long lasting will stay on me for about 5 days (obviously if you are not as hard working, don't do your own cleaning etc. maybe a week.. ha ha). There is no drilling, filing the top of the nails or electric buffing so very gentle on your own nails. The colour goes on like a normal varnish and then they go under an ultra violet light for a few seconds. The most bizarre thing is they are also instantly dry?? Completely. Which means no smudging, slipping about in paper flip flops, or consequently car accidents *ahem*
I had my fingers and toes done, toes in a deep pinky/red colour which you can see on the right and more natural colour on my finger nails. They come off by being soaked in Acetone so tougher than your usual nail varnish but not a nightmare to get off and don't take any of your own nail with it! No tips to bend your nail just my own nails to their best potential. To the naked eye it probably looks like I have false nails - they are ultra shiny, thicker, and flawlessly painted. But these all mine! ;)

All About Eyes ~ Clinique

I bought this on my recent flight back from Dubai. Duty Free it's £16 and I've been using it morning and night since.
It's in a roller pen so no messing about and massages gently around the eyes. It contains caffeine and instantly refreshes your eyes, reduces dark circles and puffiness.

I tried it on one eye and then asked a couple of people on the plane which eye they thought I'd used it on haha! They must've thought I was a nutter!! - but 3/3 they all got it right. I recommend it and it's now one of my make-up bag essentials. It is not sticky at all and after a few seconds is completely smooth so can be worn under any other products. Instant eye-lift!xx

Airport Treats...

For me cosmetics make an airport bearable. When I'm not running late & have time to shop I love to see what I can try out on my trip.
I was in need of a new lip balm so I stopped at MAC at Heathrow to see what they had on offer. I actually got into MAC lip balm as an ex boyfriend used to use it! (A clear one, not bright red haha) They've just brought out a new lip conditioner called "Calm Mode" with SPF 15 - so perfect for being in the sun. It's a beige-pink colour, an every day neutral colour. It's actually MAC's only lip balm with lavender so ideal if you need your lips soothed for any reason!... Like recent fillers ;) It was the last one on the shelf and they are selling out fast as a new product - made me want it even more!
I also bought a 6-colour eye shadow in metallics from their Limited Edition animal print sets, love my purchases. I'm a bit greedy :) Go treat yourself...

Eye lashes, Brows & Balls!

I've just got back from having my eyelashes & brows tinted at Malika, in the City. I was really impressed. It was my first time there and I've got quite sensitive eyes, they didn't sting at all and they've not missed a lash! Have a look at them here, they also do HD brows & fish pedi's:

So last night my flatmate went on a 1st date... I had several drunken calls from her & from what I could understand it was going quite well. He didn't have a rucksack (which she was worried about haha) and was good fun... In fact her last call to me at 1am they were in a massage parlour in Soho having back massages?!!
If a 1am call from drunk friend wasn't enough a while later I rolled over in bed onto something that felt like an eyeball!!! I squealed & jumped up looking for the light. My bed was covered in something red -blood?! Hyperventilating I pulled back my duvet to find a cherry!! Haha no idea where it came from. Just relieved it wasn't my eyeball.

So now I'm so tired but have a big night ahead :)
I'm having my lips done tomorrow so I will let you know how that goes!!x

My Wonderful Hair!

Unless you are my flat mate Gemma who has enough hair to insulate the house (and most days does haha) everyone can do with more hair. You can look amazing without makeup on if you have great hair. It’s basically half of your head. So while looking for someone who could give me real human hair as opposed to the mono-fibre extensions I have had in the past, I came across Wonderful Hair. First things first: hair extensions without “HEAT OR GLUE”? Highly suspicious - short of walking round with a head full of blu-tack my little brain couldn’t comprehend how this was going to work. I contacted Nev the founder of Wonderful Hair to find out more and soon after I was at the Head Quarters about to try the Cold Fusion Technology. And, it turns out it isn’t blu-tack! ;)

Straight away I could tell Nev wasn’t just a ‘hair dresser’. He’s one of those people that is completely dedicated to what he does and you can tell how passionate he is about everything to do with Wonderful Hair within the first few minutes of talking to him. It wasn’t long before I realized I wasn’t giving my own hair the TLC it really deserves and that no wonder it’s not in amazing glossy condition with the amount of products, curling, styling and sometimes back combing (eeek) going on. I promised myself this would change now, and I was going to have luscious locks!
After an in-depth discussion about how to best look after hair, and these particular extensions, Nev started to match my blonde hair to different shades of real human hair extensions. The metal gun Nev uses, he explained to me, was cold Ultra Sound and not a hot glue gun - I touched it to make sure! Each of the extensions have a v-shaped Keratin bond which your hair goes in between. The bonds are flat and clear, unlike most which are glued in and sometimes visible. So far I was impressed! I was given hair care products consisting of shampoo, nourishing cream and a brush which have all been specially designed to work with the extensions too. After a few hours I had a believable heap of glossy blonde hair and was ready to go out on the town! I was very pleased and thought it was money well spent not only for the hair itself but for the expertise.
I’m thinking more about the products I put in my hair and what is helpful for healthier hair. Alcohol based products are not good for Wonderful Hair extensions as they can react with the Keratin bonds and loosen them. You shouldn’t lose any of the extensions and they should last at least 3 months. I lost 1 a while ago but that was from not being as gentle as I should L I wouldn’t go back to mono-fibre now, although they are ultra shiny you just can’t style them like real hair. And now I’ve found out there’s a non-damaging way too I’m sold!
My friends all thought it looked amazing, and were stunned by the colour match. You can’t tell I have extensions at all!.. what do you think? Me & Lauren at Chinawhite with our Wonderful Hair!
