MAC LipGlass

Last week I was at Little Beauty Box in Bromley for a Christmas event, and took down my collection of dresses from my new on-line boutique Rule1.(While I'm on the subject I might as well plug it a bit ~ www.Rule1Store.com) To congratulate me my lovely sister bought me some gorgeous gifts. I love a lip gloss and I love MAC so she selected this gift very well. It's a gorgeous little set of 4  MAC lip glosses in different shades of pink.

In the set you get 2 shades of creme glass (barbie pink, and a nude) and 2 dazzle glass which are ultra sparkly.

This is the more natural pinky colour ~ Fashion Scoop Cremesheen

Girly hot pink ~ Petite Indulgence Cremesheen

Looks slightly purply ~ Rags to Riches Dazzle Glass

And my favourite, gloss & sparkle & pink extreme ~ Like Venus Dazzle Glass

A beautiful little treat & makes a lovely present that all girls are sure to love!

CLARINS DAILY ENERGIZER GEL

I find the thought of taking off my make-up every single day, only to re-apply the next, painful! For ages I used face wipes (gasp), any beauty therapist or skin care specialist will tell you that they just wipe your make-up around your face & don't really remove it properly. Now I've found 'The One'...

It's a gel cleanser by Clarins, which is gentle, yet removes all eye and face make up and really cleans but doesn't feel harsh. I've tried soo many face washes but this is my favourite & I will be sticking with it. I think it was about £10.50 and is definitely worth that. It's quick and easy, a nice consistency and leaves my skin soft and clean. It is for use day & night and in the morning I feel like it gives my skin a little boost. A great present or stocking filler for yourself or others... family if you're reading this! :)

LOVING SMOKY EYES

I wanted to get some new eye shadow for the party season, something that felt Christmassy that I could wear when I get all glammed up for the December nights out. I found the perfect solution with this Smoky Eye Tutorials set by Bare Minerals from Loving Beauty!

It's nice to have some guidance on how to use products and create a professional look, or just to try different techniques so when I saw the Tutorials sets I wanted to try them out straight away! In the Smoky Eyes box you get a Bare Minerals creamy/ivory coloured eye shadow, a darker grey/navy one for the smoky effect, a double ended special blending eye shadow brush, and of course the tutorial on different techniques.

I also got some La La Lashes from Loving Beauty  http://lovingbeauty.co.uk/ I thought that would finish the look off quite nicely and I think it definitely did! The Smoky Eye set is £21, and free delivery! - which I think is very reasonable. I've tried Bare Minerals products before and know that they look and feel different on the skin because they are made up of only natural products. It almost makes me deliberately not take my make-up off just because I know they say it's fine to sleep in! Haha good job really when you pass out!
The first picture below I used the ivory eye-shadow all over my eye lid right up to the brow, applied with the blending end of the brush. Then I have used the fine applying end to put the grey into the crease of my eye, and blended the two together so give a softer look. I think it really brought out the colour of my eyes! I've use Benefit High Brow pencil under my brows to highlight my brow bones.

Picture below without the La La lashes so you can see for comparison....

I love cheek bones too, I will do a post for you soon on what I use! For my Christmas party I then tried a different technique, a bit darker this time. I applied the ivory all over the lid (you have to gently tap the brush before you put it on but it tells you all of this in the box). I then used the grey on a slightly damp brush and mixed the shadow in the lid as it recommends & applied this along the base of my eye-lid near my lashes and a tiny amount in the crease of my eye again. I used my liquid eye liner, applied my La La lashes and then put mascara on my bottom lashes. You can see here how shimmery and reflective the shadow is...

I think it gave a really nice effect!! I can't wait to use them again, next time I'm going to use the grey all over and go really dark and dramatic. I love the lashes too, nice and thick and a good natural shape. I think they really set this look off. (Link to Smoky Eye set on their website here) - http://www.lovingbeauty.co.uk/love-make-up/bare-escentuals/gift-sets/tutorials-smoky-eye/prod_429.html

I definitely want to try some of the other tutorials sets and would definitely recommend buying from Loving Beauty as their prices are really competitive and they don't charge anything for delivery! Here is a link to their website!....

LOOK THE PART

I've always loved fashion, which girl doesn't!? Half the fun of having a night out is getting ready for the occasion, hair, make-up, shoes and clothes. "What are you wearing?" is THE question, asked usually a hundred times before hand! I love gorgeous, unusual, sparkly, eye-catching dresses. If you look good you feel good. So I decided to follow my passion and start my own on-line dress shop!

Since I was little my mum taught me the importance of "looking the part". Interviews, competitions, meeting people for the first time, special events, she'd say to me don't forget Rule 1. I'd say that looking the part has contributed to getting me through auditions, competitions and jobs! As much as I'd like to think that looks don't matter, I think that appearance & presentation definitely does.

Each of the dresses on my site have been chosen for their individuality & basically gorgeousness :)  I wore my "Millionaire" dress on Saturday night and got stopped 4 times in the restaurant by people asking where it was from and that was before we'd even gone out after! I did feel good wearing it. Maybe the hundreds of blingy crystals. It also has an open back which is quite sexy. Have a look on my website and the launch collection & let me know what you think!

M&M Loves: Scarves

It was so cold outside this morning! I'm glad I bought a new chunky knit scarf on Friday.... Even if I was meant to be Christmas shopping for other people. I love that we have seasons (ish) in England, and even though I'm sure I will moan when it is freezing cold, it is nice to be able to wear big coats, scarves, boots & hats. Usually all at the same time so it looks like I'm wearing the entire contents of my wardrobe & am the size of a whale.

Here's  the hat & scarf set I bought, it's light grey & you can't really see here but has a silver thread through it. From H&M £12.99....

These are my 2 fave's from Warehouse. Love the turquoise ~ £22 & leopard print knit is on sale at the moment for £12

I think this little hood/scarf from River Island is so cute. Not sure I would wear it myself, my style is more WAG than trendy, I have one of their hats with teddy ears on which I think I can pull off. Grey & animal print furry £32

Oasis blue & turquoise love hearts scarf - £20

And this is just if you fancy a spending spree and love UGG! Sheep skin Ugg scarf ~ £200

It lasts for up to 2 weeks, chip free & ultra glossy. I absolutely love them! This shade is called Midnight Cooler. I also had a microdermabrasion facial, which I love. Little Beauty Box

On Friday it was the opening of Little Beauty Box in Bromley. The salon is on Letchworth Drive, a in a parade of shops set back from the main road. My first impressions were how classy & spacious the place was. It has a really nice feel to it, and the treatment rooms feel really homely. I wanted to get into one of the beds, they look so cosy!

Little Beauty Box offers Gelish nails, Microdermabrasion facials (my favourite), along with all of your traditional treatments. My favourite apart about the salon & why I would go there over other places are firstly the friendly staff, and secondly the Relaxation Room! Once you've had your treatments, rather than be rushed out the door and back to reality (no thanks), you can make your way to the back of the salon where you will find a spacious relaxation room, choose your chaise lounge and completely chill out until you feel ready to face the outside world again....

This is going to be my new oasis. If you can't find me, chances are I will be hiding here!

The Glossiest Gloss

I've found a new gloss which has knocked my favourite gloss off it's top spot in my make-up box! In the battle of the glosses it's Clarin's Gloss Appeal -V- Barry M Glossy Tube...

Clarin's is my favourite brand for skin care, but I don't always think that skin care brands are always the best at doing make-up, and vice-versa. I've been using Clarin's Gloss Appeal (Shade 01 £12.50) for a while, and do really like it. It's great on it's own or over the top of a lipstick to give a reflective gloss with it's tiny violet sparkles. You can't feel these "sparkles", I know in some glosses you can which isn't nice. This gloss is good for a more professional, subtle look....

When I spotted the Barry M Super Shiny Glossy Tube, I knew it was a contender for my current gloss because it was a more eye-catching version at a cut of the price - £3.99. If you like a bit of gloss and glamour like me then you will love this.... It's got a much pinker base compared to the Clarins & is even more violet, reflective, shiny & pouty!!

Absolutely love my Barry M gloss, it's my new lip filler in a tube ~ without the expense and pain!

Fill Your Boots!

I've seen some really nice boots in the shops for winter, & there are so many different styles out at the moment, I want them all!

Here are my favourites...

Suede Platform ankle boots from H&M ~ £34.99. Great investment, they are so comfortable and stylish. Can be dressed up with tights and a skirt, or more casual with jeans or leggings. So cute.

How sweet are these? I love these little rock-chick look boots, can just imagine them with tights and a jumper-dress. ~ £75 from Oasis, they come in black & also grey, a little bird tells me they have £25 off at the moment in store too.. these included! Great investment. I say that about everything I buy :)

Black flat over the knee boots only ~ £20 from Primark! These actually belong to my flat mate (stealing her clothes for photos) But I have wanted them since she got them. I'm sure Gemma is glad we aren't the same size or I would steal her shoes all the time. Thou shalt not covet thy friends boots. But they are really cool

I love this Revlon "Plum Attraction" nail polish. Perfect colour for the winter & super shiny. Deep purple makes a nice change from the more common reds & browns that are popular at this time of year, but then I'm slightly biased as purple is my favourite colour!!

Beautifully Bronzed - Clarins Duo

So many people have been asking me about this! A lady even stopped me on the train to ask which bronzer I was using. I've been looking for the perfect bronzer for ages & this is IT! It's Clarin's Bronzing Duo Compact in 'Bright Sun' at around £22.50.

For everyday wear I don't want anything too shimmery or glittery, this isn't at all. It gives the perfect matt finish and evens skin tone beautifully. The main reason I love this bronzer is because it is a duo. I'm often rushing or running late & this saves time on fiddling about with a blusher as well. Using a large bronzing brush I mix the two shades together in the compact and apply lightly across my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin (this is just lightly & evenly over foundation or tinted moisturiser). I then use the lighter peach to sweep across my eyes and cheeks. The lighter colour gives a reflective effect creating contours. I then use the darker shade just on my cheek bones to give a touch of colour. Perfect for your on-the-go face! Not to heavy & gives a flawless bronzed finish!

Lauren's Way Press Launch

Last night my friend Georgia & I headed down to Jewel bar in Piccadilly for the Lauren's Way press launch. With a range of new products out it really has been Lauren's Way mania recently - once you try the products you will see why! I was wearing the Glam Tan & lashes last night in the pictures below.

Nev, Lauren & me....

The new products add to the existing range of clip-in hair extensions, and tanning, to bring in instant tan, spray Glam Tan, 3 Step Tanning products (see review below) and false lashes. Each of the items are genuinely fantastic products & I hope this range continues to grow in the future.

Me wearing my Glam Tan, such a fantastic colour, non-streak, natural looking tan. A few people asked where my dress was from, it's Lipsy...

It was such a great event, with loads of people there from all over, fantastic products, DJ, cake & of course Champagne!

Glam Tan bottle shaped Cake!! By Cakeworx, looks amazing...
